Pedestrian killed attempting to walk across the street
Pedestrians expect the roads to be safe and expect that drivers are looking out for them, but often distracted driving can lead to accidents. More than half of all traffic deaths are from pedestrian accidents, according to the New York City Department of Transportation. Early Sunday morning on Dec. 4 a 93-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a car on Long Island. According to police, the car accident happened as the woman was trying to cross New York Avenue. A car heading south hit her. The victim was taken to Huntington Hospital, but was later pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle was
