Authorities have been able to identify the girl the died in the crash as Alyssa Hearn. Investigators are still trying to figure out what happened. But they are saying that Alyssa Hearn was hit by the school bus sometime shortly after she got off. The girl was taken to the Bertran-Chafee Hospital where she later died. Authorities have been able to identify the woman that was killed in the big rig crash as Virginia Leviner. HERO CROSSING GUARD KILLED IN FATAL ACCIDENT HEMPSTEAD, NEW YORK (10, 28, 2016)  A school crossing guard was killed by a big rig truck that was attempting to beat the light on South Franklin and Grove Streets, according to ABC 7 News. The school crossing guard that died in the accident has been identified as Virginia Carol Leviner. Witnesses are saying that a child was crossing the street as a truck was approaching quickly.  Virginia Leviner pushed the child out of the way and waved her sign in an attempt to get the truck to stop.
