FATAL ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (November 11, 2016) One worker was killed and another was seriously injured after an MTA Subway Train that was rounding a curve ran into two workers, according to NBC News. The two men that were involved in the subway accident were apparently working as flaggers. They would set up lanterns in order to light the path for construction workers that repair the tracks for the subway trains. It remains unclear how the subway crash happened or if speed was a factor. DEADLY CRASH REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (November 11, 2016) One MTA worker has died and another was badly injured after a Subway train pinned them against a tunnel, according to NBC News. Authorities have been able to identify the worker that was killed as Jeffrey Fleming. The worker that died has been identified as Louis Gray. Investigators are saying that Louis Gray and Jeffrey Fleming were “flaggers.” They would go into the subways with lanterns and lights in order to light up a path for the construction workers. SUBWAY TRAIN CRASH LEAVES ONE DEAD BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (November 11, 2016) One worker has died and another was seriously injured when a subway car was rounding a curve and pinned two workers against a wall, according to NBC News. The two workers were between the Fort Hamilton Parkway and Church Avenue stations. Initial reports suggest that the workers were setting up tracks for overnight repairs. Authorities have been able to identify the MTA worker that died in the accident as Louis Gray. Authorities have been able to identify the girl the died in the crash as Alyssa Hearn. Investigators are still trying to figure out what happened. But they are saying that Alyssa Hearn was hit by the school bus sometime shortly after she got off. The girl was taken to the Bertran-Chafee Hospital where she later died. CONSTRUCTION SITE MAY HAVE BEEN IN VIOLATION OF NEW YORK LABOR LAW 240(1) BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (November 11, 2016) A construction worker was in critical condition and had to be rushed to Elmhurst Hospital after falling down an elevator shaft, according to NBC News. Other construction workers are saying that the accident happened after the man stepped on a wood board that snapped. The worker was hearing a protective helmet as well as a harness at the time of the accident. But it remains unclear if the man was hooked up properly. FATAL ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION KINGSBURY, NEW YORK (November 11, 2016) A construction worker drowned to death after falling from scaffolding into the Kingsbury Canal, according to NBC News. Authorities have been able to identify the man that drowned to death as Rahssan Smith. Rahssan Smith was one of several construction workers from the Department of Transportation that fell into the river. In total there were 5 people that fell into the water. Rahssan Smith was from Albany New York. Emergency responders rushed to the scene in order to help the workers. The workers that fell were painting the Smiths Basin Bridge on Route 149.
