FATAL BUS ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION BRONX, NEW YORK (October 24, 2016) A 43-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a yellow school bus as she was crossing the street in University Heights, according to ABC New. Police have been able to identify the woman that died in the crash as Carmen Puello. Authorities are saying that Carmen Puello was knocked over by the 2007 Ford school bus before being run over in the accident. HARFORD, PENSYLVANIA (October 24, 2016) A woman and her two children were killed in a tragic truck accident after the car that she was driving was rear-ended by a tractor trailer, according to ABC News. Authorities have been able to identify the woman that died as Alicia Stocks. State police are saying that the big rig truck struck the car shortly after 3:00 AM. She was transported to the Geisinger Community Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. The names and ages of the children that died in the accident weren’t immediately released. BUS DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER FATAL CRASH MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (October 22, 2016) A woman was killed in a tragic MTA bus accident after the driver struck her and dragged her for several blocks, according to ABC News. Authorities have been able to identify the woman that died as Bella-Yury Krementsova. The accident happened on Friday evening in lower Manhattan. The bus initially hit the pedestrian near Whitehall and Water streets. Bella-Yury Krementsova was dragged nearly a half mile to Trinity Place near Exchange Alley. BUS DRIVER MAY BE LIABLE FOR FATAL MTA BUS CRASH MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (October 22, 2016) A woman was killed in a tragic bus accident after an MTA driver hit her and dragged her for several blocks by Whitehall and State Street, according to ABC News. Authorities have still not been able to identify the victim. Witnesses to the crash desperately tried to get the driver of the bus to stop, but it appears that he wasn’t aware that he hit anyone. When aging loved ones in New York require consistent care, it is a common practice for their family members to place them into a long-term care facility, such as a nursing home. While most nursing homes are professionally run, the unfortunate reality is that some facilities have low standards of patient care, or even a history of negligence and abuse. In the past, standard arbitration clauses in facility contracts made it difficult for families to hold a nursing home or negligent nurse accountable for their negative behavior.
