HIGH RISE APARTMENT FIRE REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (JANUARY 1, 2017) – Twenty four people were injured after a fire broke out in a high rise apartment building on the West Side of Manhattan, according to NBC News. ESCALATOR ACCIDENT LEAVES 7 PEOPLE INJURED BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (December 20, 2016) –  At least seven people were injured when an escalator malfunctioned at the Atlantic Terminal Mall. The shoppers were inside of a target when the accident happened. They were walking down the escalator when it was motionless. CHAIN REACTION FALL INJURES 7 ON FAULTY ESCALATOR BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (December 20, 2016) – A malfunctioning escalator seriously injured two people at a Target inside of the Atalntic Terminal Mall, according to ABC News. The accident happened when customers at the store began walking down a stationary elevator. All of a sudden the escalator turned on and began accelerating a a high rate of speed. Police are still investigating what caused the escalator to malfunction. Those that were injured may have legal recourse for their injuries with a premises liability lawsuit.
