AUTHORITIES CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE WHAT CAUSED THE BLAZE
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (JANUARY 1, 2017) – Many people were injured after a fire started at an apartment building at 515 West 59th St., near 10th Avenue, according to NBC News.
At least six people were seriously injured after smoke filled the hallways throughout the building. A seven year old girl went into cardiac arrest but was able to be revived after the diligent work of paramedics.
The source of the fire remains under investigation. Fires in apartment buildings often break out because of cooking accidents. Towels and clothing catch fire.
Paramedics rushed to the scene of the accident in order to treat the injured. The wind seems to have played a role in feeding the fire.
The RMFW Law Firm extends its deepest sympathies to those that were injured in this fire. We encourage anyone with knowledge about what caused the fire to come forward. We would also hope that the necessary safety measures are take to prevent this from happening again in the future.
