Numbers from 2006 indicate that 1.3 percent children with no chronic illnesses were exposed to medical errors, whereas more than 5 percent of children with chronic illness were affected by a medical error.

The fatal car crash happened around 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 9. Police say the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle before crashing into trees and a nearby pizzeria. A gas line was severed and both the car and the pizzeria became engulfed in flames. None of the three people in the vehicle were able to get out in time. A family in a nearby state recently got the help they need to care for their 7-year-old daughter with cerebral palsy. The young girl is not able to walk or talk and spends her days in a wheelchair. Through the Habitat for Humanity “Brush With Kindness” program, the family had $70,000 worth of renovations done to their home to accommodate their daughter’s needs.
