NYPD MAY BE LIABLE IN FATAL PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (July 17, 2015) One man was killed and three others were seriously injured when an intoxicated NYPD cop drove his SUV onto the sidewalk and struck the pedestrian, according to the NY Daily News. Authorities have been able to identify one of the victims injured in the crash as Sophia Tabachoun. Divya Menezes and James Balchaunas were also hospitalized for their injuries after the SUV crashed. Andrew Esquivel was identified as the 21-year-old that died due to his injuries. The scene was absolutely chaotic. One person had their leg severely injured and another pedestrian was pinned up against a fence.
