THREE INJURED AFTER STOLEN TAXI CRASHES INTO SUV MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (June 19, 2016) – A taxi cab crashed into an SUV causing three people to be injured and sent to the hospital in Lower East Side Manhattan, according to ABC 7 News. (map) Authorities are saying that the driver of the taxi cab was tricked into exiting his vehicle. A stranger approached him and said that he had a flat tire. The taxi driver then proceeded to exit the vehicle while the stranger stole the taxi cab. The ride came to a stop when the stolen taxi crashed into a Lexus SUV knocking it over by Chambers and West Streets. Three people were taken to the hospital and the driver was arrested.
