SPEEDING SEMI-TRUCK MAY BE LIABLE FOR FATAL ACCIDENT ORANGE COUNTY, NEW YORK (July 14, 2016)
A fatal big-rig accident took the life of one 43-year-old man from Chester in Orange County on Interstate 84, according to ABC 7. Investigators were able to identify the man that died in the crash as Christopher Marks. Christopher Marks was the passenger in a van that was struck by a speeding tractor-trailer as traffic was slowing down on the I-84 highway. Police are saying that the fatal collision started when a Dodge truck slowed down in the construction zone and was struck from behind by the semi-truck. The force of the crash caused the Dodge truck to rollover multiple times before landing in the center median. The commercial truck continued after hitting the doge and then rear ended a Mitsubishi Outlander and a van. Both cars were then pushed underneath a second big rig truck. Numerous people were injured in the accident and Christopher Marks was later pronounced dead. An investigation into the deadly freeway collision is ongoing.
