COMPANY OF COMMERCIAL TRUCK MAY BE LIABLE FOR DEADLY ACCIDENT ELIZABETH, NEW JERSEY (July 11, 2016)
One man was killed in a tragic car accident after the driver of a tractor-trailer truck led police on a chase and crashed into several vehicles, according to PIX 2. Authorities have been able to identify the person that died in the fatal big rig accident as Jeffrey Oakley. The incident started after the driver of the commercial semi-truck hit a car by First Street and Elizabeth Avenue. The driver of the car was not injured and tried to get the truck driver to stop, but he fled the area. Authorities are saying that the truck driver continued driving erratically and struck several more vehicles. Police set up a road block and fired at the driver, but that still didn’t get him to stop. The tractor-trailer driver continue down the street and hit Jeffrey Oakley’s car head-on killing him. The other two passengers in the vehicle were transported to a local area hospital for their injuries.
