FAULTY BRAKES MAY BE TO BLAME FOR THE ACCIDENT BINGHAMTON, NEW YORK (August 30, 2016) – A woman was rescued from a burning car by four good Samaritans after a semi-truck crashed into 10 cars on Route 17, according to CNN. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash, but the police believe that faulty brakes may have played a role. The accident was caught on tape by the dash-cam of a vehicle. It shows the tractor trailer crashing into the back of one car while pushing through several others. The woman that was rescued was forced into the concrete barrier by the accident shortly before her vehicle burst into flames. One man attempted to get the woman out by opening the door, but it was jammed. Another man was forced to smash through the window in order to get the woman out. One person was eventually able to get the fire under control with a fire extinguisher. The mayor of Binghamton posted the video of the rescue on his Facebook page and is looking to honor the good Samaritans.
