SEVEN PEOPLE INJURED IN CHAIN REACTION FALL BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (December 20, 2016) – Seven people were injured in a chain reaction after one person fell down a malfunctioning escalator, according to ABC News. Police are saying that the stationary escalator suddenly sped up rapidly throwing the first person into several others. Two people were reported to be in serious condition after the fall. Authorities are still trying to work out what caused the escalator to malfunction. The escalator has been taken out of service after the accident. Fire Department officials rushed to the scene of the accident in order to tend to those who sustained injuries. Two people were rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
