TRUCK DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER DEADLY PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (June 22, 2016) – A 27-year-old cyclist was killed in a tragic car accident after she was hit by a truck making a left turn near Evergreen Avenue onto Hart Street, according to the Gothamist. The truck driver involved in the Bushwick crash has been arrested. Authorities have been able to identify the woman that died as Leah Sylvain. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene of the collision in order to tend to the downed bicyclist who was suffering from head trauma. Leah Sylvain was transported to a local area hospital where she later died due to her injuries. Online records show that the driver of the fuel truck worked for the Emp Fuel Oil Company.
