The skyscraper was a 29-story office building located near East 32nd Street in Murray Hill. The incident occurred at approximately 1:45.
The incident involved the construction worker being zapped with high-voltage electricity. He was left in extremely critical condition following the electrical exposure and he had to be rushed to the nearby Bellevue Hospital Center to receive emergency treatment.
His name was not released after the incident, according to the Daily News, and it was not yet clear exactly how the injured worker had come into contact with the high voltage electricity. Authorities sent investigators to the scene of the incident in order to try to determine how the worker came into contact with the electrical charge that left him in extremely critical condition.
