WATERFORD: Four Vehicle Car Accident Kills Waterfront Teen

WATERFORD, NEW YORK (October 16, 2016) 

A teenage native of Waterfield has been the most recent fatality of a deadly four- way car accident that occurred in Latham New York. The four way car crash that occurred near the Miller Road Miller Road overpass around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. This deadly collision also took the life of 18-year- old Paige Ahearn a recent high school graduate of Waterford High School. A recent investigation revealed that the alcohol and human error are to blame. Jessica A. Bellerose, 41, of Troy, was headed eastbound on State Route 7 when she collided with Melanie J. Curtis, 38, who was also headed eastbound. This collision caused Bellerose’s vehicle to cross across the median into on coming traffic, which then resulted in a head on collision with two westbound vehicles that operated by Jeffrey Gaul, 58, of Rensselaer, and Paige Ahearn. An unidentified passenger in Ahearn’s vehicle was taken to Ellis Hospital to be treated for minor head injuries. State police say that alcohol was the primary cause of this accident. State police are asking eyewitnesses to please step forward with any information and to contact State Police at 783-3211. The investigation into this horrific accident is ongoing and a determination of any charges is pending at this time.
