TRUCK COMPANY MAY BE LIABLE FOR FATAL CRASH MONTGOMERY, NEW YORK (July 14, 2016)
A deadly accident killed a 43-year-old from Chester after a speeding semi-truck on the Interstate 84 freeway rear ended a van, according to ABC News. The man who died in the accident has been identified as Christopher Marks. The crash took place in the left-hand lanes of the westbound portion of the freeway in a construction zone. One of the semi-trucks involved in the crash was speeding through the construction zone and hit the back of a dodge truck. The initial collision on I-84 started a chain reaction with two other vehicles. The out of control truck then crashed into the back of a Mitsubishi and a Sprinter van. Police are saying that the van and Mitsubishi were pushed underneath another big rig truck. A 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe was also involved in the accident after the commercial truck in front was pushed into it. The victims of the tractor-trailer accident were taken to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. Emergency medical workers tried to save Christopher Marks, but he was later pronounced dead.
