People assume they will make it to work safely, especially if they are riding a bus. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case last week when a commuter bus bound for New York City collided with a truck. Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the bus accident that sent four people to the hospital with injuries.
The accident happened in the early morning hours of Jan. 16 just after 5:30 a.m. The impact of the crash was enough to send the commuter bus off the road.
The bus driver and a passenger in the truck were taken to an area hospital. It wasn’t clear how serious their injuries were. The driver of the truck and a passenger on the bus were also injured, however, their injuries did appear to be minor.
Police are not exactly sure how the accident happened, but driver fatigue seems to be a potential reason for the crash since it occurred in the early morning hours. Whatever the case may be, those who were injured in the crash may have cause to file a personal injury lawsuit. When someone is negligent and causes harm to another person, they should be held responsible for their reckless actions.
Millions of people ride the bus every day. Although bus accidents are rare, when they do occur, people can be seriously injured.
When these kinds of accidents happen, those who are injured may be forced to have multiple surgeries. Other times, people must endure months of rehabilitation. Fortunately, those who are injured may be eligible for compensation to cover medical bills, lost wages and for any pain and suffering caused by the accident.
