TRUCKING COMPANY MAY BE LIABLE FOR DEADLY ACCIDENT RICHMOND TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA (July 10, 2016)
A 69-year-old man was killed in a tragic accident after he was run over by a truck driver and dragged through the parking lot of a Speedway Gas Station, according to Berks and Beyond. Authorities have been able to identify the man that was killed in the pedestrian accident as Charles Pesce. The Speedway gas station where the tractor-trailer accident took place is by Route 222 and Farmers Drive. The truck driver seems to have not scene Charles Pesce as he was in front of the truck. Emergency medical workers showed up at the scene and later pronounced him dead. Authorities will continue to investigate the car accident in order to determine liability. A full investigation is still pending, but the company that the truck driver worked for may be liable for the accident if the driver of the big rig is found to be at fault. Companies are generally responsible for the actions of their employees as long as the employee is working within the scope of his or her employment.
