TWO PEOPLE SERIOUSLY INJURED BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (December 20, 2016)  An escalator accident at the Target located at the Atlantic Terminal Mall injured 7 people two of whom were injured seriously. An eyewitness to the accident said that one of the victims was an elderly woman. The escalators have been taken out of service pending an investigation. The accident happened after several people were walking down an escalator that was still. A study has found that non-powder guns like BB guns, paintball pistols, and air rifles cause injury to as many as 21,000 people each year in the United States. According to an American Academy of Pediatrics’ Committee on Injury, Violence and Prevention report, in 2000, an estimated 21,840 non-powder gun-related injuries were treated in hospital emergency departments nationwide – the majority were children aged 5 to 14.
