BB Guns and the Law
A study has found that non-powder guns like BB guns, paintball pistols, and air rifles cause injury to as many as 21,000 people each year in the United States. According to an American Academy of Pediatrics’ Committee on Injury, Violence and Prevention report, in 2000, an estimated 21,840 non-powder gun-related injuries were treated in hospital emergency departments nationwide β the majority were children aged 5 to 14. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that 19,163 injuries related to non-powder guns occurred in 2003.
