The infant was born on March 29, 2004. She was a normal healthy toddler when she began to experience unexplained fever spikes associated with presumed Upper respiratory infection and then Urinary Tract infection. The parents ultimately took the child to Hospital ER with complaints of 105-degree fever. She was hospitalized for twelve (12) days but the hospital failed to make an accurate diagnosis and she was transferred to another hospital where a spinal tap identified bacterial meningitis.
