This client was a 49-year-old African American Corporate Vice President who presented to the Defendants for elective disc surgery. His only complaint was lumbar pain. During the procedure, the surgeon inadvertently injured the dura and then performed an inadequate repair of the leak. Our expert identified the intraoperative departures which directly caused the client to suffer irreversible trauma to the L4-5 and L5-s1 nerve roots. The client remained a Paraplegic as a result of his injuries.
